OCEANSIDE COMMUNITY DAY
CARNIVAL FUNDRAISER FOR HURRICANE RELIEF
A GOOD TIME FOR A GOOD CAUSE ON A WARM SUNNY AUTUMN AFTERNOON !
This year's hurricane season had a devastating impact on the many residents of the Gulf Coast states. In response, the Department of Community Activities (DOCA), in conjunction with civic, business, religious and service organizations in the community, came together Sunday, October 30th on Schoolhouse Green to sponsor a day of fun to raise money for those affected.
Children got $5 wristbands for unlimited access to the many rides & games including Sports Skills Booths. a 60 Foot Obstacle Course, Scooby Doo Moon Bouncer, Face Painting, Spin Art , Pie Eating Contest, * Pictures with ELMO and more.
Greengoers enjoyed chili, pasta dishes donated by A & S Deli, Bonbino's and D'Cocco's, hamburgers and hotdogs, corn on the cob, cotton candy and goodies from the Girl Scout bake sale table..
Impressario Productions Inc. DJ'ed the event - graciously donating an afternoon of fantastic music as 3rd and 4th graders displayed Halloween masks in the new gazebo decorated with cornstalks and orange ribbons by The Dee's Nursery and Florist.
Lucky winners walked off with raffle prizes including a 27" Panasonic TV, gym membership, coupons from local vendors, a one-year membership to the JCC and more.
