SCHOOLHOUSE GREEN
GAZEBO

A beautiful Victorian-style gazebo now graces the Green!
The gazebo arrived from Pennsylvania's Amish Country ready to be assembled.
Luckily, we had a team of brilliant assemblers who built a base and put the gazebo in place.
Many thanks to Bobby Schloth, John Hendricken and Joe O'Meara
who made building the gazebo look like a walk in the park!
Or, in this case, a walk on the Green!

IN LOVING MEMORY

Oceanside Education Foundation lost a great friend and a true gentleman
on Friday, January 5, 2007.
Mr. Joseph O'Meara
was Assistant Director of Oceanside School District Building and Grounds.
Several summers ago, Joe, along with John Hendricken and Bob Schloth,
picked up hammer and nails to put together the gazebo on Schoolhouse Green.
Since then, the Schoolhouse Green Gazebo has been the focal point of celebrations
from spring crafts fairs to winter caroling.
In memory of Joe and his countless contributions in building Schoolhouse Green,
we plan to place a plaque in his honor on the gazebo,
so all who come to enjoy a warm summer's day or crisp autumn afternoon there
will know that Joe's selfless efforts helped make the Green a reality.
